I am a dedicated personal trainer with over 13 years of experience. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Fitness from Purdue University and am certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Fitness Professionals Association (AFPA) and CROSSFIT. I have had many opportunities in my professional career that include exercise specialist, group fitness instructor, and personal trainer in various settings such as private health clubs, corporate fitness centers and community facilities. My background in anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, fitness testing and screening techniques, and nutrition allow me to offer customized programs for a variety of clients, and at all fitness levels.
I chose to become a trainer because I love helping people attain healthy, active lifestyles through the relationships we build and active coaching. Seeing long-lasting change in my clients’ lives has been very motivating in my career as well as my personal life.
I work with clients one-on-one or in small groups. My programs are tailored to your needs and include various weight training, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility techniques aimed to reduce body fat, improve balance, coordination and stability. My programs are customized to you! I take everything into account from lifestyle to the fitness assessment to create your program for maximum results.
Being a mother of two young children, I realize the importance and challenge of maintaining a healthy pregnancy weight and returning to one’s desired fitness level postpartum; therefore, I chose to obtain a Pre-Natal/Postpartum Exercise Specialist Certification from the American Fitness Professionals Association to become a trainer who can be a resource for my client’s during pregnancy.
Being a recreational athlete, competing in local triathlons, road races and benefit bicycle rides has brought joy and reward into my life. I especially love competing with my husband. Through support, and friendly competition, it is my objective to encourage people to make exercise a part of their live that they can look forward to, and even thrive off of. I enjoy the challenge of creating effective workouts that fit into each person’s distinctive lifestyle and needs. I am dedicated to helping you accomplish your goals!
